OPD: 3 investigations led to federal indictments on drug charges

Three people have been federally indicted on drug and other charges stemming from three separate investigations, according to the Owensboro Police Department.

According to a release, the Federal Grand Jury out of the Western District of Kentucky indicted the following suspects on October 15, 2025:

  • Max Bellamy (21 years old)
    • Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl
  • William Merriweather (27 years old)
    • Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl
    • Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of Drug Trafficking
    • Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person
  • Jesse Santiago-Gonzalez (22 years old)
    • Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute Controlled Substances
    • Distribution of Carfentanil (3 counts)
    • Possession with Intent to Distribute Controlled Substances
    • Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person
    • Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of Drug Trafficking

“The Owensboro Police Department continues to work with our Federal partners to prosecute criminals who bring dangerous drugs into our community, as well as those who unlawfully use/possess firearms,” OPD said in the release.”

All three individuals were served with federal indictment warrants and are currently in custody, authorities said.
