Base repairs and paving planned along KY 2245/West 5th Street in Owensboro

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans milling, base repairs, and paving along KY 2245/West 5th Street in Owensboro starting Wednesday, August 14, 2019.

This project extends along the entire length of KY 2245/West 5th Street from KY 2262/J.R. Miller Boulevard at mile point 0.0 to KY 2831/Frederica Street at mile point 0.246.

The contractor plans milling operations on Wednesday with base repairs to be completed the same day. The contractor then plans to return for paving on Friday, August 16. Asphalt paving along this work zone is expected to take about one day to complete.

Motorists should be alert for equipment, flaggers, and paving personnel along the roadway in close proximity to traffic. Appropriate caution is required.

About 4,000 vehicles travel KY 2245/West 5th Street in an average day.

Yager Materials is the prime contractor on this $136,630 highway improvement project.
