In an effort to help people stay #healthyathome, the Daviess County Public Library has reopened the seed library and will mail orders to customers. Customers can request five packages of seeds. They will be placed in an envelope and mailed to their home. There are almost 15 packages of seeds to choose from in the lists. We have included an assortment of flower seeds too.

Why reopen the Daviess County Seed Library?
The library understands that people are home and looking for things to do. With the quarantine order in place, we have time to do things like work in the garden. Gardening is relaxing and good for mental health. Growing something gets us moving and can also serve as a learning opportunity for kids and teens. Working with your hands in the dirt improves our mental health and will help sustain our physical health. With people being at home and the weather getting prettier, people are going to be headed outside.

“People need food, something to stay busy and to feel like they are important. Mailing the seeds will help to serve our community and fulfill the needs in the area,” said Alicia Harrington, Collection Development Manager.
