The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 2 Office notifies motorists of a bridge repair for KY 554 in Daviess County just east of the intersection with KY 815.
The bridge carried about 450 vehicles a day. A citizen motorist called in to report the settlement on KY 554 that alerted KYTC staff to the structural issue.
KYTC crews have evaluated the damage and developed a plan of action to make repairs to the structure. The approach to the structure will be excavated and repaired by encasing the timber piling supports with concrete. Excavation will begin within the next 1 – 2 weeks.
There will not be an official signed detour.
The repair work will take approximately two months to complete. Motorists will need to seek alternate routes while this work is performed.
