The Inaugural Downtown Summer Jam will take place Aug. 20 at McConnell Plaza. The free event will feature a concert, a bridge lighting show, and fireworks — and it also coincides with both the weekly Live on the Banks music series and the Owensboro HydroFest.

The concert includes performances by Zocephus & Funk Nasty along with Soul N the Pocket and is open to all ages. The concert begins at 7 p.m. and serves as a special edition of Live on the Banks, a weekly concert series presented by the City of Owensboro.

At 8:30 p.m., Lights on the Ohio will feature a pyro-musical performance of synchronized lighting on the Blue Bridge, music, and a fireworks display.

The HydroFair returns to Owensboro on Aug. 19-21. Saturday’s schedule runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes qualifying races and the Grand Prix APBA Summer National Championship.

Additionally, the mobile truck dubbed Hoppy Molly will be on site offering beer, margaritas, and other alcoholic beverages to attendees 21 and over beginning at noon.

The City of Owensboro is hosting Downtown Summer Jam in conjunction with the Eric Group, an area concert and event production company.
