The Cottage Farm Stand & Baking Co. is bringing back for their Strawberry Festival for the second year on June 10-11. In addition to all manner of strawberry-themed food and treats, organizers said the festival will feature a vendor fair with more than 100 participating local artists and businesses. There will also be a petting zoo, pony rides, family activities, and several local musical guests.

The festival will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the June 10 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 11.

Partial proceeds will go to the Airport-Sorgho Fire Department, as well as Apollo High School dance and tennis teams. The fire department will have demonstrations throughout the day, including an automobile extrication demo and an obstacle course.

The festival will kickoff that Saturday with country artist Emmalee Chinn, followed by country artist and American Idol contestant Dakota Hayden. Rounding out the afternoon will be the high-energy genre-bending trio The Sam Gyllenhaal Band. Sunday’s lineup includes Owensboro’s own, Madeline Wilkerson, local bluegrass favorites Kentucky Shine, and Nashville singer-songwriter Annabel Whitledge.

The Cottage held their inaugural Strawberry Festival last year.

“The crowd was fantastic and people came from not only Owensboro, but from throughout the state to enjoy all things strawberry,” said Marlene Knight, festival producer and owner of The Cottage Farm Stand & Baking Co.

Strawberry-themed food will of course be one of the major offerings at the festival. There will be a make-your-own strawberry shortcake station, cakes, cobblers, snacks, and desserts. There will also be several drink options such as slushies in a special strawberry shaped cup, specialty lattes, and lemonade.

New this year is the addition of many food vendors offering a wide variety of menu options. The Cottage will also be featuring its “Owensburger” and tater tots, along with kolaches.

Fresh strawberries will be available to purchase, though guests won’t be able to pick their own fresh straight from the field.

There will be a $5 per-car fee (cash only).
