Gospel Celebration

Owensboro’s Phyllis Siddon is excited to present to the community Gospel Celebration, a concert slated for November 12 that features seven well-known gospel artists.

The event will take place in the West Ballroom at the Owensboro Convention Center, with doors opening at 5 p.m. Performers include Ministers Willie and Kim Dublin, Mervin Mayo, Le’Andria Johnson, Dr. Shakira McFadden, Lisa Daggs, and Brotha Rod.

“God moved me to do this,” Siddon said. “A lot of people have turned away from the church, and we want to reach people who don’t go to church but want to remain connected. We want to see people come together in fellowship.”

Tickets are available at owensborotickets.com. General admission seating goes for $75 and VIP seating is $100, while meet-and-greet tickets cost $130. Siddon said the meet-and-greet option comes with food, and a portion of the funds raised will go to Asbury United Methodist Church.

The event is sponsored by local businesses Feel the Love Home Healthcare and LNL Security Services.

“We want to see as many people as possible,” Siddon said. “We’ve organized for at least 3,200. We will have concessions, and several artists will have tables to sell merchandise.”

Siddon said Mayo is a singing cop, and Johnson recently won the Sunday’s Best award. Brotha Rob primarily raps, while Daggs will bring a country flare.
