American rock band Blackberry Smoke is headlining a concert at the Beaver Dam Amphitheater on May 27, with special guest The Band of Heathens.

Tickets are on presale starting today and go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday.

Blackberry Smoke band members include Charlie Starr (vocals, guitar), Paul Jackson (guitar, vocals), Richard Turner (bass, vocals), Brit Turner (drums), and Brandon Still (keyboards). Since their debut in 2004, the Atlanta-based band has independently released six full-length albums and toured relentlessly, building a strong and loyal community of fans. Over the years, the band toured with ZZ Top, Zac Brown Band, and Eric Church.

“Having played music together for so long, it does become a sort of a telepathic thing, where we all are nodding our head at the same time, like, ‘A-ha, I know what this feels like,’ or what it should feel and sound like,” Starr said. That’s what makes it so enjoyable to be in a band: to play with the same dudes decade after decade. Because when you land on something that works for you, you don’t want to stop. You want to keep doing it.”

The Band of Heathens is a rock and roll group with nine studio albums under their belt. They are based in Austin and embrace the sound of rootsy, guitar-based rock.
