Donna Southard opened and operated Crazy Me Gifts and Apparel out of her home in the early 2000s before securing her first brick-and-mortar location in 2015. Nearly doubling in size each year, they relocated to their present location at the corner of 20th Street and J.R. Miller Boulevard during September of 2020.

Located in the old 2nd Amendment Firearms building and with ample space, the store features the latest in personalized gifts. They specialize in embroidery, heat press, vinyl, and laser engraving.

“We have tons of customized things to offer that range from cutting boards and picture frames to coasters and drinkware,” Southard said. “We can even engrave and etch recipes in an individual’s handwriting. We also offer custom t-shirts.”

In addition to handcrafting gifts, they offer free deliveries to funeral homes and hospitals and delivery elsewhere at a minimal cost. Southard said they stay busy, and she’s grateful to have an excellent staff surrounding her, especially amidst the holiday bustle.

“We are always looking for new unique gifts that will appeal to everyone. We are blessed and have the absolute best customers,” she said. “I also have to shout out my awesome staff; I could not do all of this without them. They are the ones that make this all happen.”

Voted best gift shop in the area for the past four years, Southard attributes the success to their many dedicated customers.

“Our customers have become our friends,” she said. “It has always been more about relationships than business for me. They have made Crazy Me much more than I ever dreamed of.”

The store also operates a commercial division focusing on office portfolios, ink pens, and other marketing materials. Southard and company take great pride in being a part of the Owensboro community and strive to be a one-stop shop for all your customized gift and apparel needs.

“We are so grateful to be in this community and for the support our customers have provided to us during the pandemic,” Southard said. “Whether you’re a business or a member of this community, it’s been a tough couple of years. It’s been an honor to help our customers every step of the way. From selecting bereavement gifts for families who’ve lost loved ones or picking a fun gift for a celebration, we’re blessed that people have chosen us.
