Audubon Area Community Services has announced the retirement of Rob Jones, who has served as the organization’s Chief Executive Officer since 2016.
“I am grateful for my time leading an organization that is committed to helping others in our community and for the opportunity to work with a talented staff and wonderful board of directors,” Jones said.
A release from AACS said that under Jones’s leadership, the organization has experienced success and made a lasting impact on the communities it serves.
“Rob Jones has been a cornerstone of Audubon Area Community Services, demonstrating a commitment to building financial stability, with a focus on infrastructure development,” the release says. “During his tenure, he successfully navigated the challenges posed by the pandemic, ensuring that vital services continued to reach those in need.”
According to the release, Jones’s strategic approach led to a significant reduction in organizational debt while expanding organizational capacity. Jones oversaw the reconstruction of the Seven Hills Head Start Center and the construction of the Crittenden County Head Start Center. His leadership also facilitated the expansion of the organization’s transportation offices, as GRITS expanded into new regions. He also oversaw the renovation and construction of housing developments in Daviess and Ohio counties.
Jones also participated in the creation of the Audubon Area Community Care Clinic, a federally qualified health center that provides healthcare access to vulnerable populations in the community. The clinic operates in two permanent locations in Daviess County, as well as in partnership with Owensboro Public Schools and the Danial Pitino Shelter, to provide healthcare services throughout the community.
As Jones prepares to transition to retirement, the board of directors and staff expressed gratitude for his leadership and dedication.
“Rob’s impact on our organization has been profound,” said Mary Danhauer, Chair of the Audubon Area Community Services Board. “We are immensely grateful for his leadership, vision, and commitment to serving those in need. He leaves behind a legacy that will inspire us for years to come.”
Jones will officially retire at the end of 2024. The organization is currently engaged in a comprehensive search for his successor to ensure a seamless transition and continued commitment to the mission of Audubon Area Community Services, according to the release.
It is anticipated that an incoming CEO will be announced in the coming weeks.
