Those looking for a unique chance to ice skate outdoors this winter can do so with the return of “Energy on Ice” at the Owensboro Convention Center. The event features an 80×60-foot synthetic ice rink located on the Kentucky Legend Pier overlooking the Ohio River.
The event – sponsored by Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline, Atmos Energy, Boardwalk Pipeline Partners, and the Staton Family Foundation – features an 80×60 synthetic ice rink located behind the convention center on the Kentucky Legend Pier.
Energy on Ice opens this Saturday, and will then be open each Friday and Saturday through December 28. The rink will be open from 5-9 p.m. on Fridays and 4-9 p.m. on Saturdays.
Skating session admission is $5, with rental skates included. Hot chocolate and snacks are also available for purchase.
