The RiverPark Center is launching Peppermint’s, a holiday pop-up bar that management says will be “retro, over-the-top, and full of holiday cheer.” The bar will only be open for a handful of weekends during the holiday season starting November 30 and will feature “12 cocktails of Christmas.”

Peppermint’s will be open from 5-11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays from November 30-December 21. There will be a $10 cover charge to get in.

Peppermint’s will be located in the RiverPark’s “BackStage,” a rental space formerly known as Woodward’s Café and later the GhostLight Lounge.

“This space has always been a hub for creativity and connection. We’re excited to reimagine it as a festive pop-up bar, bringing new energy to the space,” said RPC General Manager Chris Patterson. “It’s the perfect space for holiday parties and events during the work week, offering festive décor and handcrafted cocktails. Plus, Peppermint’s pop-up bar will be open every Friday and Saturday throughout the holidays, making it a great spot to celebrate and enjoy the magic of the season.”

Patterson said they decided to open Peppermint’s to enhance the patron experience at the RiverPark Center while driving commerce and energy into downtown Owensboro.

“We wanted to create an over-the-top festive space where our community could come together, celebrate the season, and support local businesses. It’s a win-win for the arts and the vibrancy of our downtown area,” he said.

According to an announcment on the RiverParck Center Facebook page, upon stepping into the the pop-up bar guests will be immersed in vibrant retro decor and all the Christmas magic they can handle.

“Step back in time with a nostalgic holiday atmosphere — Christmas music, vintage decor, and a playful, over-the-top setting that feels like a holiday movie come to life,” the post says.

Patterson said if the public supports Peppermint’s, the pop-up bar venture could return.

“If the community response to Peppermint’s is positive, we’re excited about the potential to use BackStage as a recurring pop-up bar space for future events,” he said. “It’s a unique way to engage with our patrons, support local commerce, and keep the energy alive at RiverPark Center.”
