The BB&T (now Truist) Wesleyan branch at 2800 Frederica St. will be closing permanently at 12 p.m. on July 20.

Starlett Whitley-Wells, Senior Branch Manager, said clients should schedule appointments as soon as possible if they need to close out safe deposit boxes. The lobby is closed except by appointment, but clients can call 270-688-7733 or use the drive-thru for services or questions.

Whitley-Wells said the company is consolidating, so the staff at the Wesleyan branch will move to another location.

A letter signed by Retail Region Leader Richard Owens was sent to clients announcing the closure.

“There is nothing you need to do with your accounts. Rest assured, you’ll continue to receive the personal care you’ve come to expect from BB&T,” the letter reads, in part. “… As a valued client, you’re our top priority, and we’re committed to making this transition as smooth as possible.”

The bank still has three other locations in Owensboro: 100 W. 3rd St., 42303 (270-688-7730); 2901 W. Parrish Ave., 42301 (270-688-7736); and 3506 KY 54, 42303 (270-688-7734).
