The Fairfield Inn by Marriott has graced the south end of Frederica Street since 1997. The property features 97 guest rooms and underwent significant renovations in 2015 to assume the title of “modern, upper franchised hotel.”

The hotel boasts spacious rooms equipped with flat-screen TVs, mobile desks, and high-speed internet. The facility also features an indoor pool, 24-hour fitness center, business center, hot complimentary breakfast, 24-hour coffee bar, and an outside patio accented with a firepit and grill.

“The hotel is designed to accommodate those both traveling for business and leisure,” said General Manager Alisabeth Douglas. “These rooms cater to all types of guests and provide the maximum amount of comfort during their travels.”

The Inn strives to promote Owensboro in several capacities. They also partner with several local organizations, most notably Kentucky Wesleyan College and the Visitor’s Bureau, to maximize the hotel’s impact on Owensboro.

“Our staff is knowledgeable about all things Owensboro and encourages all guests to visit local eateries and museums, and immerse themselves into the history of our city,” Douglas said. “We work with other hotel properties within our region to maximize the benefits our community feels from these out-of-state guests. Although we work in different organizations, we are all working towards similar goals.”

Douglas said that several staff members have been with the property for many years.

“Linda Vincent, a full-time night auditor, has been at the property for over seven years, and she is truly a staple to our operation,” she said. “We have many staff members that have dedicated years of amazing service to ensure that the property is successful.”

The Fairfield Inn by Marriott aims to make their hotel “a home away from home” for all guests. That message is evidenced by the many visitors that repeat as guests.

“Long after our guests are gone, they leave a lasting impression,” Douglas said. “We take every opportunity to learn from them in the same fashion that they hope to learn from us.”
