Evelyn Miller, was contacted Thursday by “American Pickers,” a popular show on the History channel. Windy Hollow Restaurant had been featured on the show in a past season and the crew was asking for referrals of collections they may be able to “pick” when they come through the area in a month or so.

“I guess they haven’t gotten enough opportunities or leads so they were asking if I knew anyone. I think it will be late October or November when they are coming though,” Miller said.

They are not looking for antique stores but more individuals with unique or large collections.

“Maybe a business that has closed and hasn’t been picked over,” Miller said.

Both Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, the hosts “American Pickers,” are collectors themselves and could be looking for personal reasons as well.

Miller said some people have sent photos and information to her directly through email, but if it is a referral for another person or business, they need to check to make sure they are interested in selling.

“I will definitely send information to the guys if it matches the criteria,” Miller said. “But they have to be interested in selling — all in or all out — not just in having a camera crew.”

If you know of anyone who would be interested that has large personal collections or of a business that has closed, contact Miller at [email protected].
