“This is still a very fluid scene,” Boggess said.

OPD detectives will continue to process the scene and wait for at least two search warrants. Detectives are are expected to be on scene the rest of the afternoon.

Boggess said that a bullet was found lodged in a car in the parking lot of the apartment complex and another bullet broke the window of a nearby apartment.

The shooting occurred in the parking lot of the Chuck Gray Court apartment complex. Boggess said he does not believe the car or apartment to be related to the incident, but search warrants still have to be obtained to collect the evidence.

“We believe this to be a single, isolated event,” Boggess said.

Six Daviess County Public Schools did enforce a lockout during today’s incident. Those included: Apollo High School, Burns Elementary, Burns Middle, Heritage Park High School, Tamarack Elementary and Southern Oaks Elementary.
