The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect from noon to 6 p.m., CST,  this evening.

Winds will increase and become gusty late this morning and continue into the afternoon.

Sustained west northwest winds of 15 to 30 mph will gust as high as 35 to 45 mph at times.

A wind advisory is issued when sustained winds are expected to reach 30 mph or greater for longer than one hour or when wind gusts are expected to reach 40 mph for any duration.

Unsecured objects could be tossed around outdoors.

Weakened tree limbs or trees may fall on power lines and briefly cause power outages. Trees with weakened root systems may be more prone to being uprooted given the wet soil conditions.

Also, drivers of high profile vehicles may encounter difficulty driving.
