A new online market — called Cottage Market Direct — was launched Wednesday and is designed to give customers access to fresh products from local vendors that will be delivered to their door. The market was created by The Cottage Farm Stand & Baking Company.
Cottage Market Direct will feature local Daviess County vendors — initial participants are The Cottage, Niko’s Bakery & Cafe, Cecil Farms, Hill View Farms, Goat Ridge Farms, Reid’s Orchard, and Big Turkey Foot Coffee.
Breads, soups, ready-made meals, jams, meats, coffee, and baked goods are a few of the items that will be offered.
Each week, orders will be collected until 11:59 p.m. Wednesday. Orders will be delivered to customers every Friday afternoon in insulated bags with ice packs to ensure freshness.
The delivery fee is $5. Delivery is available in the following zip codes: 42301, 42303, 42356, 42376, and 42366. Local pick-up will also be available at The Cottage Farm Stand & Baking Co. in Sorgho (6869 KY 56).
“Our goal for this new online market is to provide fresh & local products straight to the doors of local residents,” said Marlene Knight, Owner of The Cottage. “We are excited to collaborate with our community and offer customers easy access to other small businesses. We’ve all been receiving more deliveries lately, and we know this service will provide quality items straight to their door.”
