A fire was reported at the location of 1102 Triplett Street at around 10:30 p.m. on Monday night. The building that caught fire was the Owensboro Pediatrics Triplett location, where Dr. John Houston currently works.

Fire trucks and police vehicles surrounded the building for a little over an hour in the attempt to extinguish the roof-top fire. According to Owensboro Fire Department Police Chief, Steven Mitchell, they won’t release a cause for the fire for at least 48 hours.

However, the fire occurred on the roof, which was currently under construction and an 8-foot section was being replaced.

“The fire was in the Northeast corner, over a stair-tower, but it was partly over offices as well. There was some water damage done to the office space, and an odor of smoke kind of filled up the whole building,” said Mitchell.

Owensboro Pediatrics says the office is open today.
