On Wednesday, August 22nd, 2018, the Owensboro Police Department was dispatched to the area of West 5th Street and Walnut Street on a firearm discharge.
While officers were still on scene, a call was received from the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital reporting that they had an adult male who had suffered a gunshot wound.
It was determined the two incidents were related and detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division responded to further investigate.
The victim was identified as 20-year-old Desmond Griffith who is listed in fair condition at this time.
