OPD arrests teenage suspect in overnight shooting

According to the Owensboro Police Department, officers received a call Monday evening at approximately 8:53 pm regarding a gunshot victim located at the Hucks at JR Miller and E Parrish.

When officers arrived, it appeared the victim had transported himself in a vehicle from another location. The victim presented with one gunshot wound to the back that he said occurred in the 400 block of Center Street.

Detectives responded to investigate and charged the suspect, 18-year-old Julius T. Greer, with assault in the first degree and second degree unlawful transaction with a minor. He is currently lodged at the Daviess County Detention Center.

A juvenile was also charged with first degree assault and first degree robbery.

The victim was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital and the extent of his injuries are unknown.
