According to the Owensboro Police Department, a 17-year-old juvenile has been charged with assault in the first degree in relation to the shooting of Talen Johnson.

The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Talen Johnson, of Owensboro.
Owensboro Times has reached out to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital for an update on Johnson’s condition, which is still unknown at this time.
UPDATED: 9:14 p.m.
At approximately 6:26 pm, the Owensboro Police Department responded to the 1800 block of West 7th Street on a report of a male who had suffered a gunshot wound. The male victim was transported to the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.
