According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, John T. Renfrow, 32, of the 1100 block of Hwy. 279 was arrested Tuesday and charged with trafficking methamphetamine and marijuana, drug paraphernalia and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, a federal offense.

In a release sent late Tuesday, DCSO said that on June 17, 2017 the sheriff’s office conducted a drug investigation at a residence in the 2700 block of Mercedes Drive. During the investigation, approximately 3 pounds of crystal methamphetamine were located with a street value of $18,000. Also located and seized was approximately $16,000 in cash and a 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

After being charged and the amount of methamphetamine seized, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) became involved. Over the next 21 months, Renfrow again was charged on two different occasions for trafficking in methamphetamine by the Kentucky State Police.

On March 13, 2019, a federal indictment warrant of arrest was issued for Renfrow for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Tuesday, Renfrow was located at a female companion’s residence in the 1300 block of Benton Avenue. At that point, Renfrow was arrested on the federal warrant along with two state warrants of arrest. While on scene, deputies noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the residence, at which time consent from home owner was given and located was a large bag of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and approximately 6 ounces of crystal methamphetamine.
