OPD arrest man for assault after West Victory Court incident

Owensboro Police Department have arrested Brian Scott Bailey, 51 years old, of Owensboro in connection to an assault on West Victory Court on Wednesday.

According to an OPD news release, the victim, 76-year-old Eugene Evans, is the homeowner of the residence in the 2600 block of West Victory Court. Bailey bound Evans’ hands and assaulted him. During the course of the altercation, Bailey was shot and was treated for his injury at the hospital before being released.

Evans is believed to have possible life threatening injuries at this time. Bailey has been arrested on kidnapping and first degree assault charges. There are not believed to be any other suspects in this incident and both individuals were acquaintances.

Owensboro Police Department confirmed that after receiving a call at 9:43 a.m. officers responded to a residence in the 2600 block of West Victory Court where two males were found injured. According to OPD Public Information Officer Andrew Boggess, one victim was injured by a gunshot, but OPD hasn’t determined the cause of injury for the other victim.


Owensboro Police Department have responded to a shooting in the 2600 block of West Victory Court Wednesday morning.

Two people were rushed to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Conditions are unknown.
