The Owensboro Police Department is investigating the death of a 7-month-old infant that died from injuries sustained on Saturday. Detectives said they were notified of the child’s death on Tuesday.
OPD responded to a medical call in the 500 block of E. 27th St. when the incident occurred Saturday. Owensboro Times obtained information from the scanner, where dispatch said the child had fallen and was having difficulty breathing.
According to a press release from OPD, the child was immediately transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital and was later taken to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville.
