The second reading and subsequent vote regarding the Daviess County nondiscrimination ordinance has been rescheduled for April 2.

According to Judge-Executive Al Mattingly, the decision to reschedule the vote was caused by a glitch in the Daviess County Fiscal Court system.

“The Kentucky Revised Statutes require that we give seven days prior notice before the second reading and vote on an ordinance,” he said. “A glitch in our system caused us to fail to do that.”

The original date for the countywide nondiscrimination ordinance’s second reading and vote was set for March 19, but the vote will now take place during Fiscal Court’s first April meeting. As of now, all meetings will be held in-person in the second-floor courtroom at the Daviess County Courthouse.

“We will continue to monitor the situation and take guidance from Federal and state organizations, as well the CDC, WHO and state and local health officials,” Mattingly said. “Things are always subject to re-evaluation and change.”

The second reading and vote will be held at the Daviess County Courthouse at 5 p.m. April 2. No public comments will be allowed during the meeting.
