Kentucky now has a hotline citizens can call to report other people or businesses that are not following safety guidelines or state orders that have been issued to help fight the spread of COVID-19.

The COVID-19 reporting hotline is 1-833-KYSAFER (1-833-597-2337). It will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. CST, although messages can be left after hours. Not every call will be actionable.

Gov. Andy Beshear said the hotline was created after an abundance of questions about how to report circumstances believed to be dangerous — such as people being too close together, groups not engaging in social distancing, or businesses operating under unsafe conditions.

“Those who are not in compliance with our state orders, this is a call that can allow the government to know,” Beshear said. “This is an opportunity to make sure that we know what you know. We expect a lot of calls. Be patient with us.”
