3rd COVID-19 related death, 2 new cases announced in Daviess County

The third COVID-19 related death was reported in Daviess County on Saturday, as were two news cases in the county.

Gov. Andy Beshear announced Saturday afternoon that the patient who died was an 79-year-old male.

The total number of reported COVID-19 cases by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district is now 129.

There have been a total of four deaths — three in Daviess County and one in McLean County — and 10 people in the district are currently hospitalized. The total recovered cases in the district is now 55.

The county totals are:

  • Daviess County – 81 cases, 39 recovered, 4 current hospitalizations, 13 ever hospitalized, 3 deaths
  • Hancock County – 2 cases, 1 recovered
  • Henderson County – 23 cases, 10 recovered, 2 hospitalizations, 6 ever hospitalized
  • McLean County – 5 cases, 2 recovered, 1 hospitalization, 2 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Ohio County – 8 cases, 1 recovered case, 2 hospitalizations, 5 ever hospitalized
  • Union County – 3 cases, 2 recovered
  • Webster County – 7 cases, 1 hospitalization, 2 ever hospitalized

Patients range in age from 18-92, with an average age of 50. To date, 58.9% of patients have been female and 41.1% have been male. Cases by age range are:

  • 1-19 — 2 cases
  • 20-29 — 15 cases
  • 30-39 — 17 cases
  • 40-49 — 29 cases
  • 50-59 — 26 cases
  • 60-69 — 25 cases
  • 70-79 — 10 cases
  • 80+ — 5 cases

Cases are expected to continue to rise as testing capacity increases in the area and across the state.
