Tim and Kara Allen’s yard at 1120 Griffith Ave. has become a perennial ideal location for outdoor pictures for proms, weddings, graduations and family photos. This year the couple is helping a local nonprofit by taking donations from those who are wanting to use the space for pictures.

Tim Allen said with people always looking for a new spot to take pictures, he thought it would be a great way to meet that need while also raising money for Wendell Foster, a disability services and support organization.

Allen, who just took over as resource development committee chair for Wendell Foster, said the donations raised will go directly back to the nonprofit.

“We just thought this might be a good opportunity to generate some funds for Wendell Foster during the difficult time of COVID-19,” Allen said. “I am using this as a kickoff for peer-to-peer fundraising. I am hoping others do the same thing and generate some sort of fundraiser with Wendell Foster as a beneficiary.”

People who are wanting to take pictures can stop by between 3-7 p.m. Saturday and again on June 20. The Allen’s are asking for a $10 minimum donation.

For the upcoming photo sessions, no appointments are needed. Only outdoor photos will be allowed during the fundraiser.

The couple will be outside talking with visitors and will have a table set up with some information on Wendell Foster and their services.

“We are wanting this to be more about Wendell Foster and less about us,” Allen said.
