DCSO: Spectrum outage caused by fire, service expected to return soon

There has been a Spectrum internet outage in the area since Sunday evening, reportedly due to a fire that took out a fiber optic line near Carter Road.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook that the outage was due to the fire, and there would be a resolution around 9 a.m. Monday morning.

Multiple businesses and residents around Owensboro have reported outages, with the earliest complaints coming in around 7 p.m. Sunday.

Owensboro Times was unable to reach officials with Spectrum by phone or email by 9 a.m. Monday. According to a response from the “Ask Spectrum” support chat on the company website, technicians were aware of the issue but no reason was given for the outage.
