COVID-19 update: 77 cases, 83 recoveries reported for district

A total of 77 more cases of COVID-19 and 83 recoveries were confirmed Monday for the Green River District. The numbers reflect a two-day reporting period.

Last week, Green River District saw the largest number of reported cases in a single week with 473, surpassing the previous week’s total of 450. The past week also saw 20 COVID-19 related deaths in the seven-county region, accounting for 35% of the deaths reported in the district since the beginning of the pandemic.

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (22), Hancock (2), Henderson (31), McLean (4), Ohio (2), Union (11), Webster (5)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (20), Hancock (2), Henderson (17), McLean (3), Ohio (5), Union (6), Webster (30)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 4,148
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 3,251 (78%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 36
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 309 (7%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 57

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 1,670 cases, 1,380 recovered, 10 current hospitalizations, 117 ever hospitalized, 23 deaths
  • Hancock County – 94 cases, 74 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 7 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Henderson County – 1,072 cases, 734 recovered, 16 current hospitalizations, 84 ever hospitalized, 15 deaths
  • McLean County – 107 cases, 84 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 12 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Ohio County – 536 cases, 452 recovered, 3 current hospitalizations, 37 ever hospitalized, 9 deaths
  • Union County – 424 cases, 340 recovered, 3 current hospitalizations, 31 ever hospitalized, 5 deaths
  • Webster County – 245 cases, 187 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 21 ever hospitalized, 3 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 1 month-100 years old
  • Average age: 45
  • Male: 45.6%
  • Female: 54.4%

Cases by age range are :

  • <1 — 15 cases
  • 1-11 — 120 cases
  • 12-19 — 338 cases
  • 20-29 — 706 cases
  • 30-39 — 662 cases
  • 40-49 — 628 cases
  • 50-59 — 571 cases
  • 60-69 — 521 cases
  • 70-79 — 337 cases
  • 80+ — 245 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
