Jordan Revlett was released Monday afternoon from federal custody on a $25,000 unsecured bond and various release conditions. He was arrested earlier in the day by FBI agents on two charges stemming from the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Revlett, a 23-year-old man from Island in McLean County, pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of unlawful entry on restricted grounds and violent entry or disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

According to WDRB-TV, the FBI arrest warrant claims Revlett posted a 42-second Snapchat video that shows “a chaotic and noisy scene of a stream of people ascending the steps to an entrance of the Capitol building.”

WDRB and the Louisville Courier Journal both reported that Revlett posted a photo on Snapchat with the caption: “just so you guys know a capitol police officer opened the door from inside to let us in.” The same report also said the FBI was tipped off by an acquaintance of Revlett’s who had a “screen record” of him going into the Capitol building.

Revlett appeared in federal court in Owensboro on Monday afternoon before Bowling Green Magistrate Judge H. Brent Brennenstuhl.

Conditions of Revlett’s release include travel being restricted to the western district of Kentucky, firearm restrictions, and probation from being able to participate in any more protests or rallies.

Revlett was also ordered to report to his Owensboro-based probation officer on a regular basis and cannot violate any local, state or federal laws. An automatic 10-year prison sentence, a $250,000 fine, or both, will be issued against Revlett for his involvement in any further federal crimes.

All of Revlett’s future court appearances will take place in Washington, D.C., though most of those would likely be held virtually, Brennenstuhl said.

Because of the upcoming change in jurisdiction, Revlett’s attorney Bryce Caldwell said he would be filing a petition this week to remain with his client throughout the entire process.

“I do not wish to comment at this stage of the proceeding on any allegations the United States has made,” Caldwell said.

Revlett’s next court appearance will take place Feb. 8 at 1 p.m.
