Daviess County REAL ID Center

Daviess County’s regional REAL ID center is now fully open to the public, finally marking the completion of an arduous journey to establish an office locally.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Regional Driver Licensing Office is located at 2620 KY 81 at the Daviess County Operations Center. The office will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Earlier this month, Daviess County Fiscal Court released a video with State Representative Suzanne Miles demonstrating how to schedule and obtain a REAL ID credential at the new regional office.

The new office will process applications for REAL ID or standard licenses and ID cards. Any required driver testing, which is conducted by Kentucky State Police, must have been completed beforehand. Application for a REAL ID must be done in person, with proof of residence, social security and identity at a KYTC regional office.

Those seeking to renew or replace a standard-issue license or ID card can do so by mail or drop-off with the circuit court clerk in the license holder’s county of residence, provided there has been no change of name or address and the license holder does not require driver testing by Kentucky State Police.

Applicants may make appointments online at drive.ky.gov. A limited number of workstations will be available to serve walk-ins. To avoid gatherings in common waiting areas after checking in, applicants may be asked to wait in their vehicles and will be individually notified when to return to the issuance office to be served.

Office employees and customers must adhere to Gov. Andy Beshear’s Healthy at Work standards, which include wearing a mask. Social distancing will be observed. Surfaces will be cleaned and touch pad equipment sanitized after each use.

“I want to extend my thanks to Gov. Beshear, KYTC Secretary Jim Gray, and State Representative Suzanne Miles for their help in securing a REAL ID office for Daviess County.”
