OFD responds to early morning fire at Keystone Apartments

Several Keystone Apartments suffered damage after a fire early Monday morning, according to the Owensboro Fire Department.

OFD responded to the 1100 block of Burlew Boulevard at approximately 3:25 a.m. Monday.

With the help of AMR ambulance and Owensboro Police Department, firefighters were able to account for all of the residents, though several pets were lost in the fire. Red Cross is attending to families who were displaced.

Two units had severe damage, several had minor damage, and several more had smoke damage.

One firefighter suffered a non-life-threatening injury and was evaluated by EMS.

Nearly 30 personnel from OFD responded to the fire. OPD, AMR, OMU, and the Red Cross were all on scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
