A new store, Julep Home and Gift, will open in Wesleyan Park Plaza this Spring under the ownership of Owensboro residents and mother-daughter duo Sharon and Elizabeth Wilson.

Julep will provide a curated selection of items for home décor, casual and elegant entertaining, and gifts for all ages.

The Wilsons are bringing their keen eye for home accessories and gifts to the store. Julep will offer free in-town delivery, bridal registries and free gift wrapping.

“I have dreamed of sourcing some of the best brands and emerging new designers and bringing them to Owensboro. Julep will cater to brides seeking fun and timeless registry items and anyone looking for interesting gifts or elegant home décor,” said co-owner Sharon Wilson. “I grew up wrapping gifts and learning how to give excellent customer service in my parents’ retail businesses. I’m thrilled to partner with my daughter, Elizabeth, to carry this tradition into the next generation.”

After an extensive remodel, Julep Home and Gift plans to open in the former Excursions space at 2738 Wesleyan Park Plaza in late Spring 2021.

“As an Owensboro native, I feel strongly that locally-owned businesses are the best way to foster a vibrant local economy. There are so many wonderful women-owned businesses here, and we’re excited that Julep will be adding to this legacy,” said co-owner Elizabeth Wilson. “Julep will showcase many Southern brands and offer gifts at all price points.”

Sharon Wilson has lived in Owensboro and has worked as the business manager for the Center of Cosmetic & General Dentistry for nearly 35 years. She is also a group leader for Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) in Owensboro and is a past president of the Junior League of Owensboro. She holds a Master of Arts in English from Western Kentucky University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kentucky.

Elizabeth Wilson, DDS, was born and raised in Owensboro.
