The Social Security Administration building in Owensboro was recently sold for $1.65 million, but the office and services won’t be moving anywhere.

They building is located at 4532 Lucky Strike Loop, near the intersection of J.R. Miller Boulevard and Salem Drive. Anyone needing Social Security services should call 800-772-1213. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The building was purchased by Crosspointe LLC on July 28. It was sold by Lexington-based Lexblu Two LLC, who had owned the building since March 2012 when they bought it for just more than $1.07 million.

The new owners could not be reached for comment. However, Lexblu president Billy Smith said there are several years remaining on the Social Security office’s lease, which was already in place when his company bought the building. Local realtor Ted Belcher also confirmed the office would not be moving.

Smith said he and his business partner sold the building as well as another one they owned in Danville simply because they were getting older and no longer wanted to “chase them around” anymore.
