Leigh Ann Garner has joined Owensboro Community and Technical College as the school’s new Kynector Coordinator. Garner is employed through the Kentucky Primary Care Association (KPCA) and will be housed at OCTC to assist students, employees, and the community in connecting with healthcare resources. These resources include Medicaid, enrollment/renewals, Qualified Health Insurance Coverage, KCHIP, and other benefit programs.
“I was intrigued by this new program and excited about the idea of working with students, faculty, staff, and the community. I love to help people, so this position is a good fit for my personality,” Garner said.
Garner came to the position following a career in real estate and was most recently employed at a pharmacy in Beaver Dam. She graduated from Ohio County High School and the Kentucky Real Estate College.
“We are excited about this partnership between OCTC and the Kentucky Primary Care Association,” said Barb Tipmore, OCTC Associate Dean and Director of the Counseling Center and Accessibility Services. “We believe in helping our students and in supporting community needs, so this is a perfect fit for the college.”
Garner’s office is in the lower level of the Campus Center on OCTC’s Main Campus at 4800 New Hartford Road. Her office hours are Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. She plans to be available on all campuses, and personal or virtual appointments can be made by calling 502-871-0142 or emailing [email protected].
