Owensboro Health has appointed Gilbert Mischel as its new Director of Government Affairs. After political work at the national and state levels, the Owensboro native will leverage that experience to help OH foster relationships and further collaborate with community and government leaders.
“I am honored to advocate for better health outcomes in Frankfort and Washington, D.C.,” he said. “I hope to help drive forward Owensboro Health’s mission of a healthier community.”
Mischel previously served as the field representative for U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, managing the senator’s Bowling Green office and building relationships with locally elected officials, organizations, and constituents. Prior to that, he served in multiple capacities for the Republican Party of Kentucky, where he led the initiative to re-elect McConnell and Congressman Andy Barr.
Mischel is a graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School and the University of Kentucky.
Mischel will report to Owensboro Health President and CEO Mark Marsh.
“We are excited to welcome Gilbert to Owensboro Health,” said Marsh. “His experience and expertise in government affairs will be invaluable as we continue to advocate for the health and well-being of our community.”
