One individual has died after an accident on Interstate 165 near the Hwy 60 Bypass, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.

DCSO reports that the victim was dead upon arrival. They have not released the name of the individual.

Preliminary investigation and witness statements indicate the motorcyclist was entering I-165 from the eastbound bypass when they lost control of the motorcycle shortly after entering the interstate from the entry ramp, DCSO reported. They eventually fell from the motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries. The motorcycle then continued across the median and entered the northbound lanes, where it was struck by a semitruck and severely damaged.

DCSO’s Accident Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene to investigate the collision while the Coroner’s Office inspected the fatality.

Owensboro – Daviess County Central Dispatch, Daviess County Coroner’s Office, Daviess County Fire Department, Masonville Fire Department, AMR Ambulance, and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet all assisted in this investigation.
