Linda R Hessig Ziegler

April 19, 1941 - January 19, 2019

Linda R. Hessig Ziegler, 77, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Wellington Parc. Mrs. Ziegler was born April 19, 1941 in Tell City to the late Edward Hessig and Catherine Miller Hessig. She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church and worked as a Quality Control Technician at Swedish Match for over 30 years before retiring in 2007. Linda was a gifted piano player and a talented seamstress who loved making quilts and clothes for her family to wear. She was a “spunky” woman who loved working in her yard and completing crossword puzzles. Linda and Ralph were very active at the Elizabeth Munday Senior Center.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Zielger was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Edward Ziegler in 2017; sister, Gayle Mueller and brother, Harold Hessig.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Ted Ziegler and wife Susan of Owensboro and Terry Ziegler and wife Sherrie of Haubstadt, Indiana; three daughters, Denise Brooks and husband Dennis of Port Orange, Florida, Carrie Lee Boswell and husband Tommy of Owensboro and Kimberly Carmon and husband Byron also of Owensboro; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; brothers David and Daniel Hessig both of Many, Louisiana; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial service for Linda Zielger will be noon Tuesday at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Burial will be next to her husband in the Field of Honor. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 till 7:00 pm at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
