Alfred "Buddy" Gaddis

Alfred “Buddy” Gaddis, Jr., 60, of Owensboro, passed away peacefully with his sister by his side, on Friday, June 5, 2026 while receiving exceptional care at The Heartford House, a service of Hospice of Western Kentucky.

Buddy was born on August 30, 1965 to his late parents, Alfred “Buddy” Gaddis, Sr. and Thelma “Toogie” Everly. He was survived by his sister, Tonya Thompson (Steve), his brother, Greg Gaddis (Dee), along with several nieces and nephews.

Buddy attended Apollo High School and later became a truck driver, always wearing his bib overalls. He had a great love for his bulldog, Sophie, and then his basset hound, Sammy.

Buddy was remembered by his lifelong friends as the life of the party. He was known for having the talent of being a great storyteller. The facts never got in the way of a good story. While the details might have stretched a bit over the years, he left behind a trail of inside jokes, wise cracks, and many moments that will always be remembered.

There will be a private service at a later date.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Heartford House, Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301.
