Letter to the Editor

I am writing in support of Bob Glenn for City Commissioner. An ideal candidate would be one that possesses both experience and integrity; Bob Glenn is one such candidate. His experience lies both in serving our community and our city. Bob is a board member of St. Benedict’s Shelter, past chair of the H. L. Neblett Community Center board, and a board member of the Owensboro Lions Club to mention a few.

As a City Commissioner (2012-2018) he was reelected in 2020 and has been a part of the forward movement of the city. He has received major recognition for development and upgrades at Cravens Pool, the OPD training center, and for increased City employee retention while both a City Commissioner and the city representative for the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce in 2023.

Bob’s integrity as well lies in his civic and professional work. He is a lay speaker for United Methodist Church and a pastor at Bethlehem United Methodist Church. He was three-time president of Toastmasters and had a distinguished 33 career at OCTC as a Professor of Communication and Director of Forensics, winning a National Championship.

I have known Bob for over 35 years. I have served with him on both national, regional, and state committees in communication. As our Treasurer of the Kentucky Communication Association, Bob’s financial knowledge increased our financial position immensely.

In sum, you can trust Bob, you can rely on Bob’s experience and integrity, and know that he will always put the city first.
