Joseph M. Cottrell, 40, of unknown residence was charged Sunday with theft by unlawful taking (theft of an automobile) $500 or more and under $10,000, possession of synthetic drugs, first-degree criminal trespassing, first-degree promoting contraband and tampering with physical evidence.
