Traffic

A collision occurred at the 300 block of Frederica Street on at 6:10 p.m. Gary R. Smith, 61, of Rockport, Ind. was driving an SUV and Lindsay G. Staples, 25, of Utica, was driving a car involved in the wreck. A juvenile passenger in Staples’ car was injured and transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

Reports

At the 1500 block of Oak Park Drive, a second-degree burglary was reported. OPD stated they are investigating a person of interest they believe was involved in the burglary.

Speciality Motors reported first-degree criminal mischief on Saturday, July 28. A Chevy Trailblazer was reported as damaged. The value of damage was approximately $1,000.

At the 2800 block of Lewis Lane, a theft by unlawful taking at a value of more than $500 but less than $10,000 was reported on Monday, July 30. A moped was reported stolen at an approximate value of $850.

A first-degree sexual assault on a juvenile was reported on West 2nd Street on Tuesday.

Traffic

A collision occurred on Tuesday at 4:15 p.m. involving Pamela J. Allen, 56, of the 2200 block of E. 18th Street and Allison McElvain, 27. Allen was driving a car and McElvain was driving a jeep in the wreck that injured a juvenile passenger in McElvain’s car. The juvenile was treated at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

Reports

Reed Shelton, 17, of the 3500 block of Thruston Dermont Road was reported missing on Tuesday. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and jeans. His mother, Denise Tina Shelton, reported she last heard from her son via text on the night of Saturday, July 28.
