According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was patrolling the area of Ben Hawes and Willett Road, when a vehicle parked in a parking lot was observed and found to be occupied by Anthony Blake. Blake was wanted for an indictment warrant for persistent felony offender in the first degree.

Upon contact by the DCSO, Blake fled in his vehicle. A pursuit was then initiated on Highway 60 West from Booth Field Road and continued westbound on Hwy 60 W.

During the pursuit, Blake followed most traffic laws, at times speeding up to 12 mph over the speed limit, but refused to stop.

Kentucky State Police joined the pursuit and, upon entering Henderson County, KSP took over.

Henderson County deputies were able to successfully deploy spike strips which led to the speeds dropping to approximately 20 mph, at which time a KSP trooper was able to use a PIT maneuver and safely stop the vehicle in the 13000 block of Hwy 60 E in Reed, Kentucky.

Blake was taken into custody without incident or injury to himself or law enforcement.

He was transported to Daviess County Detention Center where he was charged with fleeing or evading first offense, operating a motor vehicle under the influence first offense, speeding 12 mph over the posted speed limit and with the warrant for persistent felony offender first degree.
