Daviess County boys golf holds a narrow lead after day one of City-County golf, while the Lady Aces are out in front on the girls side.
Grant Broughton led the Panthers with a 39 on the day, finding himself second individually. Meanwhile, Dawson Lamb and Grayson Powers shot 40 each, Hayden Sapp shot a 44 and Logan Mewes shot a 45 to help Daviess County earn a score of 208.
Owensboro Catholic followed close behind by grabbing second with a score of 210, while Owensboro finished third with a 216 and Apollo finished fourth with a 246. Houston Danzer led the Aces with a 38—finding himself in a three-way tie for first individually—while Hayden Crabtree (40), Noah Johnson (43), JT Payne (44) and John Wathen (45) rounded out their top-five.
Will Hume led the way for the Red Devils with a 38, with Cole Crews and Brady Benjamin both putting up 42’s while Will Rickard and Walker Gaddis shot a 44 and 50 respectively. Trevor Cecil was the third in the tie for first individually with a 38, while Ethan Clements (43), Caleb Poe (48), Mason Julian (54) and Alex Bowlds (63) rounded out the team score.
In the girls competition it’s Owensboro Catholic who’s in charge, getting a team score of 189 with Hannah Robbins shooting a 44 to lead the team. Lanie Ann Osborne chipped in with a 47, while Conleigh Osborne shot a 48 and RC Porter shot a 50 to round out their top-four.
Claire Reynolds led the Lady Panthers with a 39, while the team shot a 211 on the day. Annalee Yager followed her up with a 47, while Baylie Billinglsey shot a 48 and Leah Coppick shot a 77 to earn second place. Mary Ann Lyons competed individually for the E-gals and tied for second with a 44 on the day, while Ellie Watson and Ryann Kasey shot a 54 and 69 for the Lady Devils.
