DCSO: Skeletal remains found Thursday on Pleasant Valley Road

Skeletal remains were found Thursday morning in the 1500 block of Pleasant Valley Road, and the identification of the individual is believed to be known, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office. 

According to a release, Central Dispatch received a call at 7:07 a.m. regarding possible skeletal remains, and DCSO responded to the scene. 

Upon arrival, DCSO found skeletal remains of an unknown person. The remains were approximately 15 feet off the roadway, laying on top of riprap rock, according to DCSO. 

The Daviess County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene. The scene was processed and the remains have been transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy. 

The identification of the individual is believed to be known and follow-up to confirm plus notify next of kin is in the process. The investigation is ongoing.
