The Lady Devils offense was clicking on all cylinders Wednesday, while Trinity couldn’t muster enough offense in its loss.

Owensboro vs. John Hardin

After claiming an early lead, a late offensive outburst helped the Lady Devils earn a 15-2 win over John Hardin on Wednesday.

Owensboro wasted no time getting on the board, scoring thanks to an error to go up 1-0 after the first. The Lady Devils ramped up the intensity in the second with RBI singles from eighth grader Reese Boswell and freshman Addison Hill, while also getting an RBI groundout from sophomore Emmi Connor to take a 4-0 lead.

After a scoreless third inning, Owensboro exploded once again. This time the Lady Devils put a whopping eight runs, growing their lead to 12-0.

They added three more the following inning, as freshman Kirsten Tindle proceeded to close the door.

While John Hardin get two runs in the bottom of the fifth, Tindle was able to silence their bats and secure the 15-2 win for Owensboro.

Tindle had a strong day in the circle, allowing one earned run on two hits, while striking out four. The Lady Devils had nine players record RBIs on the day, with freshman Ellington Embry tallying three to lead the way.

Owensboro moves to 4-10 with the win and will be back in action Thursday, as they have a district matchup with Owensboro Catholic at 5:30 p.m.

Trinity vs. Edmonson County

The Lady Raiders offense just couldn’t find a rhythm on Wednesday, which led to a 3-1 loss to Edmonson County.

It was a scoreless game through three innings, but it was the Lady Cats who got on the board first. With the bases loaded and two outs, freshman Julie Norris took advantage of two errors and a walk with a single to take a 2-0 lead.

Trinity showed signs of life by registering a run in the bottom of the sixth thanks to an error, cutting its deficit to 2-1. However, Edmonson County added one more run in the top of the seventh for the final run of a 3-1 win for the Lady Cats.

Senior Katherine Hibitt, freshman Madison McDaniel, Sarah Payne and junior Allie Graham err the only Lady Raiders with a hit on the day.

Trinity falls to 8-6 with the loss and will look to bounce back after some time off, as its next game will be on April 25 against Hancock County at 5:30 p.m.
