Mitcheleen Smith, age 88 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away May 31, 2022 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital. She was born in Mook, KY on December 25, 1933, daughter of the late Walter and Hattie Drane Armes. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. Mitcheleen was a farmer who loved working with her cows, riding her 4 wheeler and driving her tractor while bush hogging her fields. She loved being outdoors – working in her beautiful flower garden, mowing her yard and raising a garden. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her delicious pecan pies.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Owen Smith.
Mitcheleen is survived by 3 children: Greg (Paula) Smith of Hardinsburg, KY; Patricia Smith of Irvington, KY and Denise (Greg) Hardesty of Hardinsburg, KY
5 grandchildren: David, Armmand and Becca Smith, Travis and Emily Hardesty
7 great grandchildren: Darrian, Ariel and Rachel Smith, Alex and Andrew Carter, Adelynn Mittender and Hudson Hardesty
1 brother – Loyd D. Armes of Hardinsburg, KY
1 sister – Sharon Hodge of Elizabethtown, KY
Funeral services will be held at New Bethel Baptist Church on Thursday, June 2, 2022 a 2 PM with burial in the church cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
