GREENVILLE, KY., Bro. James Roy Lear, 73, of Greenville passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Greenville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Greenville, KY. He was born in Todd County, KY on November 10, 1948 the son of Richard Lear and Gracie Ann Mayes Lear. He was a farmer all his life and was a preacher for over 40 years. He was a member of Trinity General Baptist Church in Tyewhoppety, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Linda Knight.
He is survived by his sister Thelma Marie Slaughter of Clifty, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be on June 17, 2022 at Freedom General Baptist Church from 10:00 AM until time of service at 2:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held at Freedom General Baptist Church in Greenville, KY on Friday, June 17 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Tony Blake officiating assisted by Rev. Anthony Knight. Burial will follow at Lear Cemetery in Clifty, KY.
